Sneaker Care 101: Keeping Your Pairs Fresh Longer
A great pair of sneakers is an investment, and basic care goes a long way toward protecting it. The first rule: always let shoes air out and dry fully between wears, ideally with a cedar shoe tree or crumpled paper to hold shape.
For leather and synthetic uppers, a soft brush and a mild sneaker cleaner solution handle most everyday dirt. Avoid soaking leather panels; wipe rather than drench.
Suede needs a different approach — a suede brush and eraser block lift stains without water, which can permanently mark the nap. A water-and-stain repellent spray applied before first wear helps a lot.
Store pairs away from direct sunlight, which yellows soles over time, and rotate your rotation so no single pair takes all the wear. Small habits like these keep sneakers looking fresh for years.
